The PAITool Project: An AI Training Course for SMEs

Would you like to learn more about AI in order to upskill yourself for the changing needs of the labour market? Or how AI can be deployed in companies, for instance, when it comes to marketing and sales support, or quality control?

Explore the free resources offered by the PAITool project!

The PAITool project, a small-scale partnership funded by Erasmus+, has just ended, but all the project materials are available for free on our website in English and Slovak.

AcrossLimits participated in the project, partnering with the Slovak Center for Digital Innovations (SCDI), in order to develop and test new flexible opportunities for VET on Artificial Intelligence, that will support SME staff and employees in adapting to and enacting digital transformation. This will be achieved by learning how to incorporate AI systems and tools in their business structure and gain a competitive edge in the market.

The PAITool outputs are not only useful for SMEs, but also for trainers within educational institutions who would like to integrate AI concepts within their existing curriculum, as well as anyone who would like to upskill themselves by learning more about AI.

  1. The PAITool course

The PAITool course presents 8 scenarios on how to deploy artificial intelligence in a company. It can be found by accessing the e-Learning platform:

https://paitool.eu/courses/paitool-course/lessons/content/

These are the 8 scenarios:

  1. Artificial intelligence in industrial production
  2. Quality control in industrial production
  3. Predictive maintenance
  4. Energy management
  5. Marketing and sales support
  6. Online sales
  7. User and customer support
  8. Automation of non-manufacturing processes

  1. Supporting course documents for lecturers

We have prepared supporting documentation for each AI deployment scenario. These are recommendations on how to use the prepared digital content in the context of vocational training in schools.

The documentation recommends variant work with digital educational content and reducing or increasing the scope of interpretation according to the level of the audience.

They can be found here: https://paitool.eu/supporting-documents

  1. Supporting course documents for trainers in SMEs

We have also prepared supporting documentation with recommendations on how to use the prepared digital content in seminars, webinars and other training activities for SMEs

The documentation also allows for the possible involvement of practitioners or experts from IT companies and indicates at which stages of the presentation it is appropriate to discuss their experiences from AI deployment projects.

They can be found here: https://paitool.eu/supporting-documents

  1. A Qualitative Assessment of Employment Barriers

This report discusses our findings on the factors that may hinder people from finding a job, after consultation with a number of experts in Slovakia and Malta.

You can read our report (in English or Slovak) here: https://paitool.eu/reports

You can also read an overview of the report in one of our previous articles: https://www.acrosslimits.com/paitool-project-qualitative-assessment-of-employment-barriers-published/

  1. An SME Digitisation Needs Report

Over the past few months we also carried out a survey on the Digitisation Needs of SMEs, to see what more can be done to help SMEs in their digital transformation and in their adoption of AI in their day-to-day work processes.

You can read our report (in English or Slovak) here: https://paitool.eu/reports

  1. Train-the-Trainers workshops in Slovakia and Malta

During the past year we organised Train-the-Trainer workshops in Slovakia and Malta to delve deeper into how our course can be used in training environments, especially within SMEs.

  1. Upskilling workshops in Slovakia and Malta

Moreover, in order to help individuals who may be struggling to find a job or to upskill to find a better job, we organised Upskilling workshops, where we explained how our course could bolster one’s CV. During the workshops in Malta, AcrossLimits also gave some tips on how to create a more effective CV and how to prepare for face-to-face and online interviews. These sessions were especially helpful to counteract a few of the barriers to employment which emerged from our Qualitative Assessment of Employment Barriers.

How can you help us spread the word about the materials developed during the PAITool project?

We have created 4 brochures, which are available in our Brochures page within the Resources and Reports section. These are all free to download and distribute!

You are also welcome to contact us on [email protected] or on [email protected] if you have any questions about the results of our project.
