People of AcrossLimits:
Angele Giuliano

Angele Giuliano, the founder and Managing Director of AcrossLimits, is a seasoned entrepreneur in the fields of technology and European funding. With over 25 years of experience, she has built a career centred on fostering innovation, driving international collaboration and helping organisations secure EU funding to bring transformative ideas to life.

Her leadership has positioned AcrossLimits as a trusted partner in navigating the complexities of European projects, helping businesses and institutions to access crucial resources for growth and development.

The Early Days

Born and raised in Malta, Angele’s professional journey began in the early 2000s. With a background in technology and a keen interest in solving real-world problems through innovation, she founded AcrossLimits in 2001. Initially AcrossLimits was a software development company, but soon after Angele identified the untapped potential of European Union funding programmes.

AcrossLimits quickly evolved into a key player in EU-funded projects, helping organisations secure funding for initiatives across various sectors, including health, education, tech, gender equality and sustainability. Over the years, Angele has guided the company to success in over 90 EU projects, consistently bringing together cross-border partnerships to deliver high-impact solutions.

Role at AcrossLimits

As Managing Director, Angele is at the helm of AcrossLimits, overseeing its strategic direction and ensuring that the company continues to meet the needs of its diverse client base. She leads a team of professionals who specialise in areas such as project management, innovation, technology solutions and creative media. Her day-to-day responsibilities include building relationships with European partners, coordinating international projects and identifying new opportunities for growth.

One of Angele’s favourite aspects of working at AcrossLimits is the variety of projects the company takes on. “What I love most is the diversity of the work we do,” she says. “Every day presents new challenges and opportunities, whether we’re working on an artificial intelligence project, supporting digital education or helping women in the tech world.”

Her hands-on approach ensures that she stays deeply involved in the projects AcrossLimits undertakes. Whether it’s consulting with a client on their funding proposal or leading a strategy session with her team, Angele’s passion for problem-solving and innovation is evident in all aspects of her work. “It’s incredibly rewarding to see an idea go from concept to reality, especially when it has the potential to make a real difference in people’s lives,” she adds.

Life at Sea

The COVID-19 pandemic brought about significant changes in how people live and work, and for Angele, it opened the door to a new way of life. In 2021, she and her partner made the bold decision to live fulltime aboard their sailing boat which they now base in Greece, embracing the flexibility of remote work. “The pandemic showed us that we didn’t need to be in one place to be effective,” Angele explains. “I decided to take the opportunity to live more adventurously and explore the Mediterranean while continuing to run AcrossLimits remotely”. The same goes for the rest of the team, who also enjoy the freedom of working fully remote.

Living on a boat has provided Angele with a unique balance between work and leisure. Despite the unconventional lifestyle, Angele remains fully connected to the operations of AcrossLimits. “It’s a different kind of work-life balance, but it works well. Whilst my internet connection can be a bit unpredictable, I’m able to stay focused on the business while also enjoying the freedom of life at sea and meeting all the lovely cats inhabiting the Greek marinas,” she says.
